Voice Dream - Read Out Aloud App Reviews

this has been the most used App since I bought it a few weeks ago, Well worth the money, with a lot of in app voices to buy if you want or can use default iOS voices if you want, I use this App to read pdf files , it helps me retain the information faster, with a built in dictionary (regex capable) to correct words that are pronounced wrongly, what can I say more ,it has everything you need to read all of your books, documents,articles aloud with the most elegant and customizable way . If only there is a chance this App adds tts voices from Nuance this would be amazing ,from my personal experience Nuance provide great tts engines , also if there is an option to fit pdf by width to read in landscape mode it would be great.

Requires you to pirchhase different voices event though I payed a huge amount for the app. The app has bugs also and has issues reading numbers.

Good app, that could be great if issues with ignoring reading unwanted headers and footers could finally be fixed... The developer claims latest release resolves this problem.. but I have not found that to be the case in my recent experience in updating to their latest release... I followed all their instructions exactly as they specified regarding headers and footers in PDF files, but voice dream still continues to read them. I have tried every combination and permutation of settings and no matter what I do it still wont ignore headers and footers when reading PDF files! Quite frustrating as it is not fixed as you claim... Please help!!

Last update deleted everything Ive done in the punctuation dictionary, took a lot of time to get the medical words said correctly. Please fix this issue

the book doesnt look very pleasing. give it an ibooks style appearance rather than windows notepad look. make the book look like a book instead of just a text file. thanks. other wise i love the voices and its great.

I love this app I use it every day it is amazing.

I use this app to read whenever I can. However, I frequently use Daisy format books such as those from bookshare. If these files have images the voice dream app does not display the images. Because most of my texts refer to important images and figures that are not displayed, I find myself unable to use the app, which is otherwise flawless.

Reading what was in my library is fine. Going to the single website I get my files from is a problem. Thus far removing the web browser has ruined my access. It is better to be available than uselessly helpful. I guess I will figure it out eventually.

No other text-to-speech app compares. Ive been training college students with disabilities on this app for years and its by far the favorite.

This app has changed my life. If you like Audible, this allows you to have the same "reading while getting other stuff done" functionality. I take all the articles I want to read in the Atlantic, the New Yorker and the New York Times, and feed them into VoiceDream and then get to read everything while in the shower, while walking the dog, doing chores, driving, etc. I CAN READ SO MUCH MORE NOW! The features and UX with this app are absolutely the best, and Ive tried a number of programs that do text-to-speech. Buy this, take a few minutes to learn how to use it (its easy and intuitive) and then buy one of the voices you like, and youll be amazed!

This is an excellent app. I use it every day for reading books and documents. Im totally blind, and Im so greatful the developer made this app fully vo compliant. This app deserves every single one of those five stars.

Although for a man in his 70s it is a bit of a challenge to master this program, I am making progress after only a few days of tinkering. I had a need for such a program as reading by sight many Web pages that I visit has become increasingly difficult because of progressive loss of vision. I will continue to practice daily until the process becomes second nature. God bless this developer.

Robotic. Cant compare to a good audio book and doesnt hold a candle to a great audio book. Really disappointed after all the great reviews. Very glad I didnt but the dream suite.

Voice dream is amazing! I listen to textbooks, novels, old notes Ive written, you name it. Its an amazing tool! The developers added a looping feature thats making a huge difference for me as I like to use the app to memorize passages. This app will help you enjoy reading and studying so much more!

Tried to use this to no avail.

I thought that it can read Kindle books or iBooks; however it only reads what is added in the app. Also it uses the system voice. I do not see any efforts to improve the artificial voice from the app developer. I wonder what makes this app better than other similar apps. Is it really worth $9? My answer is No.

I got this app because of its ability to read text aloud, and it is now my primary way of reading, visual or auditory. I use it every single day. It is the best app for reading on almost any platform. It has text to speech, with your choice of voice in almost any language that beats out the built-in accessibility features of IOS, and the voices sound better. It lets you read books, documents, PDFs, web pages, or anything else on the screen as well, or narrates it to you when you are on the go. It works with virtually every major cloud service you might have documents or books or websites, and also easily allows you to add your own. Finally, the developer stands behind this product, and is constantly making it better. I have paid high amounts for apps that did a lot less and was not satisfied, but I certainly cant say that about this app.

I love this app and will use it every day, but when I enabled Cloud Sync, it deleted EVERY SINGLE book I had imported into the app. ALL of my notes, all of my books, GONE! I would recommend this app to anyone, but when it comes to using Cloud Sync, NEVER ENABLE IT! It will take many weeks to figure out how much damage this has done to me, and I am constantly reminded of all of the books I now must re download.
