Voice Dream - Read Out Aloud App Reviews

ive been using Voice Dream for a little over a year. Its a really good program. The interface is easy to use, the voice selection is excellent, and it actually can decode PDF documents. its very stable, and the people who write it are engaged in doing the best work possible.

I love this App, its one of most essential in my iPhone. Im giving 4 stars because I think the Browser needs some improvement like to be faster, smarter, add reading list and ability to see or import bookmarks from another browser or App.

Ivona and Acapela voices are still not working as in previous version too. I use iPad 4 with iOS 9.3.1. Please, fix this bug!

Really has helped me in my work, I can finally listen to the things I cant find time to read. Emmas Voice is excellent!

This is a solid tts reader but given how much it costs it should have a better designed bookshelf. Its not very clean and makes differentiating among books (if you have many) not very intuitive. Too bad.

Just add Serbian and Croatian and it will be five stars. Approximately 30-40 mil people speak those languages so there you go, its worth it. Cheers!

not have completed my masters degree as I have anomic aphasia a kind of dyslexia where I struggle to read from the page. I need to hear the text out loud to be able to process it - and this app has made it possible to finally read books. The one thing I find annoying is how short forms or strange name spellings like Gen (a person) are assumed to be (general or Il (a place not in America) (Illinois a place in America). These automatic assumptions really really really bother me and make reading those texts pretty much unbearable. But beyond that, my knowledge scope has expanded quite dramatically and I owe this app in part for my sanity.

I bought my iPad just for this app. I use it for reding all kids of formats. Pdf works the best for me. In comparison to other apps this one stands out because i can actually click anywhere on the page to start reading from that spot. Easily integrated with dropbox plus other cloud services. keep up the great job in developing new features!

Excellent app and I enjoy the added voices purchased. Note to developer: I know you are stretched between platforms/mobile OS but both are worth keeping updated despite the latters variety of formats. Dont take the reviews harshly! Keep it up!

It is a wonderful experience to be able to carry my text books with me in my bag, rather than on my back. My back would especially like to thank you for this wonderful creation. I can remember when Kurzweil was No. 1. Even though Kurzweil still has its uses, I find myself using Voice Dream more & more every day. If theres one thing that I have learned about using this program is that there is nothing wrong with the program but you do need to check your files you are trying to read.

This is the text reader app Ive been wishing for since 2010! It responds to the headset remote controls like a standard audio player. Its pronunciation is excellent, even when the text is poorly formatted, a little scrambled or even missing spaces between some of the words. It even finds and bookmarks chapter headings so you can easily skip to one! I strongly recommend this app to anyone who listens to audiobooks, but cant find audio versions of all the books they want. Unfortunately, there is no Apple Watch integration yet.

I use this everyday and its made a big difference. Ive been using Regex to weed out separators and theres a bit of a problem with repeat capital strings like XXXXXX the Regex cant catch it to skip since I suspect it sees it as an acronym and tired to expand first before reading.

Best text to speech on tablet, or any other platform! Essential for anyone with a learning disability, or wants to streamline there reading. Cant wait for version 4.0 this week

Crashing now after update. Just a grey screen when I try to load large text book PDF (~350mbs). Crashes when I try to switch from book to book

This update not only repaired the bug that wouldnt allow it play on the last iOS update but also added all of the features Id been asking for. It now works as well with academic journal articles as it does with books. This was well worth the wait! Congratulations and thank you!!

This is a real gem of an app. With thoughtful and continuous updates, this has grown into one of the most sophisticated possible text to voice applications. Now, the update to 4.0 overhauls some of the core functionality and, miraculously, makes this an even more intuitive and valuable app. Possibly my most highly recommend app!

Supports amazing number of file formats from multiple well integrated sources. Great UI elements worth exploring. Well worth the price!
